Zayed Higher Organization (ZHO) to Host World Federation of the Deaf Congress 2027 in Abu Dhabi

March 7, 2024

For the first time in the MENA region, the UAE’s capital Abu Dhabi will host the 20th World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) Congress in 2027. Organized by the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination (ZHO), this prestigious event aims to raise awareness and ignite momentum towards advancing a world that embraces accessibility and inclusivity for all.

To announce the exciting news, ZHO launched a creative video filmed at the region’s largest indoor theme park, Warner Bros. World™ Yas Island, Abu Dhabi to showcase one of the key attractions that the capital of the UAE has to offer. ZHO takes viewers on a journey through the one-of-a-kind theme park where the theme park staff are shown working together in carrying the WFD flag through much-loved areas of the park such as Warner Bros. Plaza, Cartoon Junction and the iconic Batmobile in Gotham City. The symbolic video concludes with childhood favorite characters Superman and Bugs Bunny assisting in the grand unveiling of the official WFD flag.

Zayed Higher Organization and Warner Bros. World™ Abu Dhabi look forward to welcoming all in 2027.

The World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) Congress serves as a forum for experts, industry leaders and over 2,000 deaf participants hailing from 125 countries to share insights and deliberate on initiatives aimed at fostering inclusivity not only in Abu Dhabi but also worldwide.
