The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) has signed an agreement with Miral to enhance the cooperation of both entities in improving public transportation on Yas Island. This agreement is part of ITC’s relentless efforts to boost partnerships with various entities, aiming to develope creative solutions capable of enhancing the quality of public transportation services to all users. This step is also in line with the efforts to achieve sustainable services, and foster an integrated and smart transport sector across Abu Dhabi Emirate.
The partnership aims to identify the best ways of improving the public transport infrastructure on the Yas Island. Additionally, both entities will implement research, feasibility studies and pilot projects on the possibility of offering public transport on-demand services for residents and visitors of the island. These steps are part of Miral’s vision to position Yas Island as a top global destination of leisure, entertainment and business, and ITC’s efforts to improve the level of services offered to the public and allow them to use public transportation for daily commutes safely and conveniently.
With such cooperation, both entities will study the possibility of implementing technology in the transportation sector in Yas Island to improve the users’ experience. , Both will exchange public transport data and study the current and future travel behaviour, contributing to the development of the digital infrastructure on the island, in which will result in improving the services offered in Abu Dhabi.
