Over the past decade, Yas Island has become one of the most recognised leisure and entertainment destinations in the world. What was once an undeveloped island on the shores of Abu Dhabi is now a 25 sq. km destination offering world-class leisure experiences, business event venues, hotels, and experiences that continue to set the standard for the region.
The numbers speak to that ambition. Yas Island recorded 38+ million visits in 2024, with an average hotel occupancy of 82% and a peak of 90%. International visitor growth exceeded 40%, GCC visitor growth exceeded 56%, and average daily hotel rates increased by 17% year-on-year. These are not the figures of a destination still finding its feet; they are the markers of a destination at full momentum.

A Destination Built as an Ecosystem
Over the years, Yas Island has developed a diversified portfolio of leisure, entertainment, hospitality, and lifestyle assets. The destination is home to Ferrari World, Yas Waterworld, Warner Bros. World™, SeaWorld®, and CLYMB™, alongside Yas Marina Circuit, Yas Mall, Yas Links, and more than 165 dining experiences.
Beyond leisure, Yas Island has also evolved into one of Abu Dhabi’s leading destinations for business events. Its mix of event venues, hotels, dining experiences, and entertainment attractions allows organisers to host conferences, exhibitions, incentive travel programmes, product launches, and corporate gatherings within a single integrated destination.
This proposition is supported by Miral’s partnership with the Abu Dhabi Convention and Exhibition Bureau (ADCEB) which resulted in the creation of the Abu Dhabi Convention & Exhibition Bureau and Miral Joint Business Event Fund. The fund was established to attract international conferences, incentive groups, and major business events to the emirate. Together with assets such as Etihad Arena, the Middle East’s largest indoor multi-purpose entertainment venue with a capacity of up to 18,000 people, these initiatives are helping strengthen Yas Island’s position as a destination where business and leisure come together seamlessly.
Business Events as Economic Infrastructure
According to the Department of Culture and Tourism, Abu Dhabi, MICE delegates increased by 40% to 2.2 million in 2025, while the number of business events rose by 37% to 6,600. As business events become an increasingly important driver of year-round visitation and economic activity, destinations such as Yas Island are playing a growing role in supporting Abu Dhabi’s ambitions as a global hub for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions.
Within this expanding landscape, Yas Island has emerged as a key location for large-scale meetings and events. Its combination of event venues, hotels, entertainment attractions, dining experiences, and convenient accessibility enables organisers to bring together conferences, gala dinners, networking events, and incentive programmes within a single integrated setting. This ability to combine business and leisure experiences in one place has become an increasingly attractive proposition for event organisers and delegates alike.
A Long-Term Vision, Consistently Delivered
One of Yas Island’s defining qualities is that its growth has been shaped by long-term, purposeful planning. As a key enabler of Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Strategy 2030, Miral is committed to supporting the emirate’s vision for sustainable tourism growth and destination development.
This growth has been supported by a long-term approach to destination development, focused on complementary experiences, continuous investment, and maintaining the standards that encourage visitors and event organisers to return.
Why Yas Island Stands Apart
Event organisers and corporate decision-makers increasingly evaluate destinations on more than venue capacity alone. Accessibility, accommodation, entertainment options, dining experiences, and delegate engagement all influence destination selection.
Yas Island offers these elements within a single destination. Delegates can attend a conference, networking event, product launch, or gala dinner while remaining within an ecosystem that supports both business objectives and visitor experiences.
As Abu Dhabi continues to strengthen its position as a global hub for tourism, business, and investment, Yas Island demonstrates how integrated destinations can support both economic growth and meaningful visitor experiences. Its ability to combine business events with world-class leisure infrastructure is increasingly what sets it apart within the region.
