Hugo Blomfield is the Chief Ideation Officer at Miral, leading the concept development and planning of Miral’s world-class destinations. With over two decades of experience in design development, master planning, and conceptual strategy, Hugo plays a pivotal role in transforming ideas into immersive, world-class experiences that define Abu Dhabi’s tourism landscape.
Hugo joined Miral in 2012, shaping the creative vision of some of Abu Dhabi’s most iconic destinations, including SeaWorld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, Warner Bros. World™ Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, CLYMB Yas Island, Abu Dhabi and Ferrari World Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, to name a few, ensuring every project reflects innovation, excellence, and guest-centricity. He led the ideation of teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi, guiding the conceptualisation process in close collaboration with teamLab, and ensuring the project brought to life its core themes of curiosity and wonder.
Before joining Miral, Hugo held senior roles at Mubadala, where he led real estate and hospitality development projects, and earlier worked with the City of Vancouver on urban planning and policy analysis.
Hugo holds a Master of Science degree in Community and Regional Planning and a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources Conservation from The University of British Columbia. In addition, he completed the Space Studies Program at the International Space University.
