For Miral, shaping Abu Dhabi’s leisure, entertainment, and tourism landscape has always carried a responsibility to the communities, environments, and ecosystems that those destinations are part of. The launch of IMPACT by Miral in December 2025 marks the point at which that long-standing commitment becomes structured, transparent, and measurably accountable.
From Strategy to Action
Since introducing the CSR strategy in late 2023, the organisation has delivered close to 239 initiatives across Abu Dhabi, engaging more than 145,687 community members and building partnerships with over 107 organisations — among them the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, the Department of Community Development, and Emirates Foundation.
IMPACT by Miral is the natural progression of that work. Established in partnership with the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, the Abu Dhabi Government’s official channel for social contributions, the Fund creates a governance structure that allows both corporate partners and individuals to direct contributions towards initiatives with clearly defined outcomes. It is, in essence, the step that takes intent and turns it into demonstrable impact — an approach that reflects what shaping corporate social responsibility in Abu Dhabi looks like when it is done with rigour rather than gesture.
Four Pillars, One Purpose
The Fund operates across four strategic areas: Conservation, Art & Culture, Health & Wellbeing, and Education & Skills Development. Each has been designed not as a broad ambition but as a delivery framework for specific, targeted programmes.
The inaugural initiative, Guardians of the Arabian Gulf, illustrates this approach well. Led by the Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue Center on Yas Island, it encompasses seagrass research and conservation, the rescue and rehabilitation of sea turtles and birds of prey, and a training programme to develop the UAE’s next generation of marine conservation leaders. The connection between Miral’s destinations and meaningful environmental stewardship is direct — the expertise and infrastructure within its ecosystem are put to work in service of the wider region.
The remaining pillars follow the same logic: Art & Culture initiatives nurture local talent and preserve heritage; Health & Wellbeing programmes address preventative care and community resilience; and Education & Skills Development focuses on building the capabilities that Abu Dhabi’s knowledge economy will need in the years ahead.
Governance That Reflects Genuine Accountability
One of the distinguishing features of the IMPACT by Miral is its commitment to transparent governance. Oversight is with a joint steering committee comprising Miral and the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, supported by an advisory group. That structure ensures transparency in how contributions are allocated and that each initiative is evaluated against its stated social and environmental objectives.
This matters because Miral’s approach to destination development has always been shaped by the understanding that long-term value and community wellbeing are not competing priorities — they are connected ones.
